Top 3 Features You Should Be Using on Your Google My Business

What is Google My Business

Google My Business, or GMB, is the listing we all see on the right side of screen when we look up a business on Google. It shows important details about your business such as, hours, website, contact information, much more.

We’ve all seen these listings, but as a business owner do you know the true benefit of having and using a GMB listing? We will list three of the best features of Google My Business and how they can help your grow your business.

1. Insight and Performance

Insight and Performance are both very useful tools that you have access to on your Google My Business listing. They both offer information about how and where potential customers find you. Performance will give you information such as number of Views, Searches, and Actions. These metrics are good to monitor the effectiveness of your site or any marketing you’re currently doing. For example, you can monitor views over a time period and note the times where your views were highest and lowest.

Insight offers you information on how potential customers found you and how they arrived to your website. From the words or phrases one used in the search engines that resulted in you coming up, to the actions they took once they did find you.

This information can be critical when doing keyword research for your AdWord Campaigns. While this information can be found under your Google Analytics account, having it here makes it convenient when you want a quick glimpse at your website analytics.

2. Google Post

Google Posting

A relatively new feature in GMB is Google Posting. When you think of posting you likely think of social media. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.

With Google My Business you can create a post that can be seen when someone looks up your business. Think of it as an additional social media page for your business. You can use this feature to share offers, promote events, or simply share additional content. Using this feature allows people who stumble upon your business to get an idea of what you do and what you are currently up to.

3. Reviews

While you are not writing the reviews, you should manage them. Ratings, opinions, and reviews make up a good portion of online marketing. The good and the bad is that these reviews can help you get, or lose business. After you completed a transaction or any form of business with a customer it’s always a good idea to encourage them to leave your company a review.

GMB Reviews

Google My Business compiles all your Google reviews. On your GMB you can see, thank, and respond to any feedback, good or bad. This lets your potential customers know that you are aware of all things being said about your business and that, if nothing else, you are willing to listen.

Google My Business can be a very useful tool. It can help you increase your visibility, manage your reputation, and reach your target audience. While it may seem intimidating, with a little time, you will be able to navigate your GMB like a pro.
